I’m Giancarlo Alfano
I have always been enamored with the art of growing and making wines. For my undergrad, I studied philosophy and environmental science with an emphasis in geology at the University of Oregon. After my Study Abroad program in Siena, Italy, where I studied winemaking and wine history, I decided to begin my wine education.
While working at a winery in Dundee, Oregon, I received my WSET 2 & 3 diploma with distinction. I then left the Willamette Valley and headed to Italy for a Masters in Viticulture and Oenology at the Universitá Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Piacenza, Italy. There I studied under the renowned Stefano Poni and Milena Lambri. After my final exams I went on to work a full viticultural and oenological internship for Tenute Ruffino in Tuscany. Now I’m back to share my knowledge and continue my unwavering curiosity about all things wine.
